Avery cowl in lavender blue

I am very pleased with this cowl. The pattern, called Avery and designed by Melissa LaBarre, comes out really well. I used very smooth wool for this that has little structure and I think it’s the perfect type of yarn for this project. It’s a 10 ply yarn from Lana Grossa called “Bingo” and it’s a 100% merino light.

  1. That is beautiful! I agree, the wool is perfect for bringing out the pattern. I hope this comment goes through – I tried several times to comment on your ceramics blog, but WordPress wasn’t allowing me to comment on any other WP blogs for a while. Fingers crossed! Oh and thank you for your kind words.

  2. Thank you for stopping by my blog and I am sure you noticed that I am really in the beginning of learning to knit. But looking at your cowl I can see you have much experience. What a beautiful job.

I just wanted to mention that I collect pottery. Hmmm that’s an interesting theory you have there. Looking forward to more. Aloha from Hawaii.

    • Thank you so much for your sweet comment and for following! You gave me a great compliment about my knitting!! I have been knitting since my early childhood, and there is still so much more I need to learn. I’m discovering new things all the time, but I believe that’s what keeps the passion going.
How great to hear you collect pottery !
Wish you all the best with your knitting, hope you enjoy as much as I do. Come back any time.

    • Thank you so much, it was a quick and easy project and I enjoyed it a lot. I believe the choice of the yarn worked out very well.
Like always, no matter what you decide to make, the choice of the material and color often makes the difference, just like with ceramics.
      Thanks for reading.
